Notice - Next ride to Frasers Hill 2nd January 2010


We enjoyed the previous ride so much that we will be doing it again next week. Riders from Changkau Cycling Club - Din, Eddy, Fariq, Yasir, Dr. Khairul, Dr. Hafiz, me and maybe Taif.

Kakitua riderz - Ezad, Khalili, Firdaus, Nasuharee, Rasyidi, Farouk, Shah and Edd

Kelab Kembara PKNS - Shahrudin, Iswardy and Sharom.

Special guest Mr Lee from Kepong who will be 61 this 2010 on his heavyweight Polygon.

My personal comments having done the ride.

I thought it would be painful but my muscles did not complain that much, the worst complain I had from them was during the Antara Gapi Challenge, they complained for over a week.

For this particular ride, they were surprisingly silent.


For anyone interested to join us. RV will be at the SPLASH Information center Selangor Dam at 8.30 am 2nd January 2010. You can either contact Ezad of KTR at 012 341 9227 or myself at 016 337 8974 before that date. This is to ensure that we buy the breakfast for you. Ride will begin estimated at 9.00 am. Gap at 11 - 11.30 am, Frasers at 12.40 -1.20 pm. Back at Splash by 4 to 5 pm.

All this depends on the condition of the riders.

Firstly for me, this was definitely the Ride of the Year... the ultimate ride, despite being a road ride.

When it was first brought up by Din of Kelab Kembara PKNS, I was just toying with the idea. I always wanted to do it but... it is a long long ride... uphill. I talked about it with Yong of Tukang Basikal Fook Sang, he said" No way!!! Not suitable for weekend cyclist like you" I asked Uncle Ong of ABC, he said " Wahh Bukit Fraser kaa? Mau manyak kuat ooh."

Despite all that, I was determined to go. Din was very encouraging. Anyway the pictures speak for themselves....

Four of us rode that day, Fariq and me of CCC, Khairi of KTR and Din of Kelab Kembara PKNS, incidentally it was his 7th ride up.

Pre ride meeting, Oii baca doa selamat dulu. Insyaallah sampai.





1 kilometer into the ride, we realized that Khairi was missing, Jalal went to look for him.





I am just enjoying the view at the Dam.

The Chief for the day. Din of Kelab Kembara PKNS. One really cool cat. He is one real Mamak Bendahara Bukit. He gets up to the peak, but he makes sure you get there as well.

Total Distance 69km according to Din, 72km according to Fariq

4.55 arrive at Gap
6.10 Arrive at Selangor Dam.
7.45 Arrive at KD

Antara Gapi Ride log 12th December

This is the pictures of the Antara Gapi ride, taken from KTR website. My camera was not functional on that day. We did not do Puncak Dagu as it was too hot. Din was afraid somebody might collapse. Anyway for the first time, Khalili did a GPS map of the ride trail. It was shorter than the challenge by about 6 km. But is was long enough for me for that day.

Notice - Next ride, Kuala Kubu Baru to Frasers Hill Saturday 19th December 2009. Road Ride.

Leader - Shahrudin Kelab Kembara PKNS with team

Riders myself and Fariq maybe Dr. Khairul. Din ada kenduri, Eddy is in Cameron Highlands.

Probably joining, Khairi of KTR, Ezad if I manage to persuade him.
